SPOTLIGHT ON TWICE ELECTED
GOVERNOR GRETCHEN WHITMER

Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed QUALITY’S CEO Campbell to a four-year term on the Board of Accountancy that began July 2021.  CEO Campbell was honored to have a one-on-one meet and greet and accompanied Governor Whitmer to local community churches in the Inkster/Westland community, October 2022.  This allowed CEO Campbell to communicate with the Governor about an upcoming Governor Appointee’s National Convention.  The Governor offered her encouragement to continue serving the people of Michigan as an Executive Board Member Appointee. 

Governor Gretchen Whitmer was at the top of the 2022 Michigan’s Democratic ticket with historical results that included the highest voting turnout for a Michigan’s Midterm election, taking democratic control of every branch of Michigan government and for the first time in 40 years, a power shift with a Democratic Legislature. 

Governor Whitmer accomplished reaching $170 billion-dollar rainy day fund, sued to challenge Michigan’s constitution “Zombie Law” on abortion, balanced budgets without raising taxes, lowered childcare cost, expanded health coverage, and the allowance of free college tuition for 170,000 students all with a bipartisan legislation.

MICHIGAN’S OFFICIAL VOTING DELEGATE AT
2022 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell was the voting delegate for the state of Michigan at the 2022 National Governor Appointees’ (Board of Accountancy) 115th Annual Meeting in San Diego, California.

One week prior to the October/November 2022 Annual Meeting, QUALITY’S CEO Campbell had a one-on-one meet and greet with Governor Whitmer as she visited churches in the Inkster/Westland community.  CEO Campbell embraced her communication with Governor and appreciated the Governor encouraging message to continue serving the people of Michigan.

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell received a four-year term appointment from Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Board of Accountancy that began July 2021.


SPOTLIGHT ON LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR GARLIN GILCHRIST II

Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II thanked QUALITY’S CEO Campbell for her service as an Executive Board Member Appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.   

As part of Governor Whitmer’s Administration, Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist II has led the state of Michigan in addressing injustice and inequity by co-chairing Task Forces on Jail, Pretrial Incarceration, Racial Disparities and Juvenile Justice.  Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist II focuses on creating communities where every person feels safe.  His focus in these areas brings about an impact on saving lives for vulnerable individuals while enlightening others on how laws and standard practices can be improved and avoid targeting certain populations. 

Congratulations to Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist II as he approaches his second term as the state of Michigan’s Lieutenant Governor. 


CONGRATULATIONS ON NEW JERUSALEM CHURCH
RECEIVING USDA SPONSOR’S GRANT

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell wrote, submitted, and was approved for a multi-year United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Sponsor’s grant.  This grant allows CEO Campbell to manage the staffing, menus, purchasing, packing and distribution of free and healthy meals to children in the community for New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (NJMBC). 

CEO Campbell was also the administrator to lead the team for NJMBC in obtaining their Food Service License from the Wayne County Health Department.  NJMBC catered and supported another corporation to distribute healthy meals in their local area.

After the grant to become a Sponsor was approved, President Biden signed the “Keep Kids Fed Act” on 6/25/2022 and extended the funding and flexibility to provide children healthy meals throughout the summer.  The grant is approved to serve meals to children at the end of the school year to continue children’s accessibility of daily healthy meals in the summer months.  This is a five-year grant of being a Sponsor with options of extensions.

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell hands-on administration resulted in NJMBC receiving over $62,000 reimbursement funds for serving over 18,000 meals during the summer months of 2022.  In 2023, Ms. Campbell’s Chief Administrator skills included strategic planning, purchasing, staffing, contracting, training, transporting and directly overseeing this summer project that resulted in over 25,000 children meals prepared, delivered and/or served and New Jerusalem’s church receiving over $122,000 of reimbursable funds.


APPLICATION FOR MI TRI-SHARE PILOT RFP
GAINED NOTABLE ATTENTION

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell completed and submitted a creative and impressive Request for Proposal (RFP) for the “MI Tri-Share” Pilot in 2021.  The Tri-Share program is an amazing concept that offers many working parents a 2/3 reduced rate for their childcare expenses by sharing the expense with their employer and the state of Michigan.  The Michigan Women Commission (MWC) called for proposals to set up a hub for the parent, employer, and state of Michigan where each pay 1/3 of the childcare expenses and drastically reduce the parent’s expenses while assisting the employer additional benefits for their employees and possibly an increase in staff attendance.  

CEO Campbell submitted an RFP for the working parents in QUALITY’S community to receive this assistance and received notable high interest in the creative RFP submitted.  MWC’S Executive Director followed up with CEO Campbell several times and Michigan Senator Erika Geiss’ office contacted CEO Campbell and requested additional information for her submitted RFP.  QUALITY was not selected for the pilot, but CEO Campbell remains hopeful that some of her creative ideas within her RFP will be utilized to help working parents within the state of Michigan reduce their childcaring expenses.


SPOTLIGHT ON THE LATE JERALEAN TALLEY
GUINESS BOOK RECORD - OLDEST LIVING PERSON
(May 23, 1899 - June 17, 2015)

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell was instrumental in collaborations, research, and submission of the required documents for the late (African American) Jeralean Kurtz Talley who was recognized in the 2016 Guinness World Records Book as the Oldest Living Women and the Oldest Living Person at the age 115 years 349 days as of May 15, 2015.

CEO Campbell coordinated the late Jeralean Talley’s birthday celebrations for 17 years beginning with her 99th birthday.  During special events, CEO Campbell honored Mrs. Talley with reflections of her bowling activities until the age of 104 and stories of her life-long fishing activities.  CEO Campbell also revealed the communication she had with the White House staff under the presidency of Barack Obama on the recognition of her birthday.  CEO Campbell reflected on the loving and memorable times as Mrs. Talley was humble, an active church member, and family friend.


CONTINUING - THE LATE JERALEAN TALLEY
GUINESS BOOK RECORD - OLDEST LIVING PERSON
(May 23, 1899 - June 17, 2015)

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell had a close relationship with the late (African American) Jeralean Kurtz Talley who was recognized in the 2016 Guinness World Records Book as the Oldest Living Women and the Oldest Living Person at the age 115 years 349 days as of May 15, 2015.

CEO Campbell arranged yearly information to media, scheduling interviews and press coverage worldwide during Mrs. Talley’s church birthday celebration.  Mrs. Talley was on a bowling league until she was 104 years old and her last bowling game her score was 200.  She loved fishing, spending time at church throughout the week, family and friends.  Her church honored her by naming the church’s entrance drive and scholarship fund in her name.

Mrs. Talley received letters, certificates and visits from dignitaries, companies, associations, sororities, fraternities, mayors, city council, county executives, county clerks, commissioners, governors, senators, congress, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Secretary of State, and United States Presidents.  Mrs. Talley died at the age of 116 years and 25 days on June 17, 2015. 


SPOTLIGHT ON OLYMPIC MEDALIST: BETTY OKINO

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell had the honor of meeting and sharing a meal and updates with retired American Gymnast and United States Bronze Medalist, Betty Okino in Huntington Beach, California. 

In 1992 Gymnast Okino was a part of the USA Olympic gymnast team that won their first team medal.  During the uneven bars competition, Gymnast Okino completed a skill that resulted in the skill being named after her “Okino”.  She is the first black woman of any nationality to win multiple individual world championship medals in gymnast.


SPOTLIGHT ON FORMER NFL WIDE RECEIVER: HERMAN MOORE

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell had the opportunity to meet former National Football League (NFL) wide receiver Herman Moore.

Former NFL wide receiver Herman was drafted in the first round of the NFL in 1991 by the Detroit Lions.  He attended and graduated from the University of Virginia.  Mr. Moore became a key part of the Lions run in the 1991 division-round game against the Dallas Cowboys as he caught six passes for 87 yards with a touchdown as they won the game 38-6 to win their first playoff game since 1957.  He is a 4x Pro Bowl (1994-1997) and 2x NFL receptions leader (1995, 1997).  He had 670 catches for 9,174 yards and scored 62 touchdowns.


SPOTLIGHT ON NBA STAR KEVIN DURANT

QUALITY’S CEO Campbell had a photo opportunity with the “great” professional basketball star Kevin Durant earlier in his career.

Kevin Durant is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history.  He has won two NBA championships, an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, two Finals MVP Awards, two NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Awards, four NBA scoring titles, the NBA rookie of the Year Award, and selected 14 times as an NBA All-Star.  He was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.  He won three gold medals in the Olympics (2012, 2016, and 2020) and the leading scorer in Team USA’s men’s Olympic basketball history according to Wikipedia.

SPOTLIGHT ON AWARD WINNING ACTOR
LOU GOSSETT, JR.

The Academy Award – Oscar and Emmy winner Lou Gossett Jr., allowed QUALITY’S CEO Campbell to spend the day with him at his home in Malibu, California. 

Award winner Lou Gossett Jr., shared stories on his remarkable career and allowed QUALITY’S CEO Campbell to take a picture with him while she held his Oscar.  Lou Gossett Jr. won the Academy Award – Oscar in the 1982 film “An Officer and a Gentleman” for Best Supporting Actor.  The memorabilia and breathtaking pictures within his home as well as listening to the multi-award winner Lou Gossett Jr. answer questions regarding his historic acting career was a treasured experience.  CEO Campbell was especially appreciative to look at his collection of his star-studded photos and she was intrigued with their conversation about his role in Alex Haley’s TV miniseries of “Roots”.
